It’s the first new Las Vegas casino to open its doors in six years, and after a series of push backs over the last five, the Lucky Dragon will finally fully open this Saturday, Dec. 3.

from food options like noodle bars and dim sum to a Chinese spa and multicultural service staff familiar with Asian customs and language. Gaming will focus on popular options like baccarat, pai gow and sic bo, with feng shui-designed gaming parlors.
A soft opening last Saturday revealed 203 hotel rooms (with no fourth floor, a number considered unlucky in Chinese culture) and a casino boasting over 30 table games and nearly 300 slot machines – a small casino by Las Vegas standards.
While the number four is to be avoided, the number eight is considered lucky – so the casino’s bar is purposefully an octagon and the phone number has four eights.

“We drove the phone company crazy,” Dave Jacoby, the Chief Operating Officer of the Lucky Dragon, told the Los Angeles Times. “They gave us a list of [proposed] phone numbers, and we threw out so many.”
In order to cater to overseas clientele and provide a truly Asian experience – even the signs are in Chinese before English.
“We didn’t want to be a caricature of an Asian resort,” Jacoby told KSNV News3LV. “Most of the other casinos here in Las Vegas are very large mega resorts trying to be all things to all people — we have a different approach here at Lucky Dragon.”
The property also boasts a high-limit gaming area known as the Emerald Room, a VIP gaming parlor, a pool designed to create an oasis garden, a spa with four treatment rooms, an indoor-outdoor Tea Garden featuring an extensive list of tea curated by a tea sommelier, and 27,500 square feet of casino space.
The opening will have all the pomp and circumstance you’d expect.
