From making your wackiest fantasies come to life, to family-friendly trick-or-treat events, Las Vegas has it all this Halloween. Trade the Twix bars for jello shots (or don’t!) at one of these over-the-top holiday events and hope you can still remember it in the morning.
Any list of Las Vegas Halloween events has to start with the Fetish and Fantasy Ball, which is potentially the most outrageous party we’ve ever heard of. (Almost) nothing is forbidden at this gathering, which has been dubbed one of the most “bizarre and risque Halloween parties in the country” by the Los Angeles Times. Just people watching at this costume-party-to-beat-all-costume-parties would be enough, but there are also tons of DJs and performers to keep the insanity going all night long. Getting in touch with your deepest fantasies (and those of everyone around you) isn’t cheap, general admission tickets start at $105, but after-1 a.m. tickets are available at $55 for those who just want to take a peek behind the curtain. The party is Saturday, Oct. 28. For more information click here.
Location: 11011 W Charleston Blvd, Las Vegas.
I’m not sure it can top the well-established Fetish and Fantasy, but the Sahara Lounge is going to try with their “The Sexiest Halloween Party” from 9 p.m. on Oct. 31 to 3 a.m. on Nov. 1. (You could always go to both!) The main event at this get together is the sexy costume contest, which will dole out $1,000 in top-three prizes for those who dare-to-bare in their strappiest get ups. The top two sexiest costumes will be awarded, and the scariest costume will grab $250. Stevie Boy G will host and DJ Funk will provide the entertainment. There is no cover charge until midnight. For more information click here.
Location: 1000 E Sahara Ave., Las Vegas.
The classic Fremont Street Experience attractions, like the nightly light shows, will take on a Halloween theme for the holiday weekend. Hit up the downtown street where costumes are encouraged and live music rages on for a low-key way to celebrate the holiday. Freemont has also recently opened the Halloween-friendly “Fear the Walking Dead Survival,” an attraction featuring elaborate sets, immersive audio and high-tech motion simulator technology inspired by AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead” TV series. On Oct. 27 and 28, the official Sin City Halloween Parade will also take to Fremont Street with special guests James Winburn and George Wilbur aka Michael Myers (Wilburn played the murderer in the original “Halloween in 1978, and Wilbur donned the mask in 1988 and 1995).
Location: Fremont Street, Las Vegas.
If you want to go classy (-er), stop by the Halloween Art Gala & Costume Party at the Sound Check Rehearsal Hall on Saturday, Oct. 28. From noon to 6 p.m. the hall will host an art gala complete with live art, music, body paint, food trucks, and costume and make-up booths. The hall will then reopen at 8 p.m. for a sexy costume contest and musical performances by JohnBorn, Drew Tyrell and more. Cash prizes will be given in the categories of sexiest costume and best costume. Tickets start at $40. For more information click here.
Location: 3485 W. Harmon Ave., Las Vegas.
In the ultimate display of family-friendly Halloween-ness, Opportunity Village is opening its magical forest for a “frightfully fun fest” on Oct. 13, 14 and 15, and Oct. 20 to 31. Activities and attractions include “The Haunted Adventure,” an enchanted carousel, the Forest Express Ghost Train, mini golf, a slide and the “Boris the Elf’s Experience.” Witches and warlocks will also be on hand in treat stations, a candy cabin and to perform nightly entertainment among various Halloween and pumpkin displays. Opportunity Village is a nonprofit that serves adults in southern Nevada with intellectual disabilities. The forest is open from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and until 9 p.m. the rest of the week. For more information click here.
Location: 6300 W. Oakey Blvd., Las Vegas.
