While most Americans hung up their swimsuits and pulled out their sweaters weeks ago, the Nevada desert helps summer lovers extend the season with high temperatures and a commitment to party culture.
The majority of Sin City pools locked their gates for the season in mid-October, but some Las Vegas hotels make sure your party never has to end by keeping their pools open year round. If you are headed to the strip this winter, check out one of these five. While you may have to dig under the bed for your bikini and pool towels, it’s worth it for a few more hours of the sunniest season and an envy-inducing Instagram post.
The Hard Rock Hotel closes its more popular (and wilder) pool, Rehab, during the winter, but Breathe stays open and is heated to a lovely 80 degrees. Hard Rock calls this pool area the “relaxed alternative to the typical Las Vegas nightclub and bar scene,” and the tropical oasis will definitely have you questioning what your calendar says. Fourteen cabanas and a full-service food and beverage menu are also available. Breathe is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. year round.
The luxurious pool at the Bellagio has a distinct Mediterranean feel that extends from the plant life to the pool cafe designed for al fresco dining. Citrus trees and landscaped gardens will greet you at this beautiful spot, which boasts five luxurious pools, the two largest of which are heated, and four whirlpools.
Cocktail service is provided throughout the pool area, changing rooms are available, and chaises longue are calling your name. The cabanas feature a television, WiFi, pool rafts, non-alcoholic beverages, and a personal cabana host. Treat yourself to a huge dining menu with selections like a chicken bruschetta sandwich and seasonal fruit with yogurt panna cotta. The pool is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Nov. 3 to Dec. 7, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m thereafter.
The two pools and spas at The Mirage aren’t turning you away this winter, and the red, yellow, and orange landscaping will make sure you remember the best parts of summer. Surrounded by waterfalls and lagoons, these pools are the perfect place to grab some rays and take advantage of Paradise Cafe or the Dolphin Bar.
The bar is surrounded by waterfalls, grottoes, and towering palms, and the cafe serves up refreshing cocktails with a lavish lunch or light breakfast. The main pool and hot tub are open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Dec. 7.
The massive pool deck on the third floor of the Venetian Palazzo resort doesn’t shut down just because the temperature dips a few degrees. The beautiful swimming hole is heated to 80 degrees year round and visitors can enjoy a cabana or poolside massage any time. The entire pool isn’t open out of season, but certain parts are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m every month. The neighboring pool at the Venetian Hotel is open for the same hours. The poolside Wolfgang Puck restaurants are closed for the season, but beverage service is still in full swing.
The Moorea at Mandalay Bay is open to all ages during the winter season (usually it’s 21-plus) and, unlike a lot of the pools on this list, this beach club has a whole different array of offerings during the winter months. The outdoor pool is open for the usual frolicking, but you can also enjoy a fire pit complete with a s’mores package, and can reserve a luxurious Moorea sand cabana. Guests who book cabanas will enjoy flat-screen TVs, plush seating, an aux input for your own music, lounge chairs, and a personal host. The Moorea Pavilion – an elevated space for up to eight with a private pool, day bed and cushioned chaises longue – is also available for rental during the winter season. The club opened for the off-season on Nov. 7 and the hours have not yet been updated.
