It seems like everything in Las Vegas is just a little more expensive than everywhere else. Everything is gold platted, excess is everywhere and everyone wants to be a high roller. But there are a few splurges in Sin City that will really make you stand out. Sure, you could drop hundreds on bottle service at a club or dump this month’s rent on a craps table – but so could anyone. If you’re trying to find some of the truly outlandish things hidden among the crowd, look no further.
I’m not sure anyone is this big a foosball fan, but just in case – The Atrium at the Palazzo has your back. The lavish shopping destination has for a sale a table that is based on a field of laminated, shatterproof crystal, upon which sit players dipped in 24-karat gold. And forget tacky, loud slots for the ball when you score – your accomplishments at this table will be scored in a tiny goal complete with a hand-knit net. Even the shopping experience can be decadent – The Atrium has a bar in the back serving lavish cocktails and hand-rolled cigars made on the spot. The Cristallino GOLD LE table costs $25,000.
Walking to your yoga class is so pedestrian. Now, you can be personally delivered via air with Maverick Helicopter’s “Heliyoga” package. For $3,500 for six people, you and your five closest yogis will take a 45-minute round trip private helicopter ride to the top of the Valley of Fire State Park – 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in grey and tan limestone. Once there, you will enjoy a 75-minute yoga session in the tranquil surroundings, with instructions delivered via wireless headphones. After that, you’ll take a flight over the Las Vegas Strip before getting back to ground level. You can even choose what music to listen to. The whole experience takes about 2.5 hours.
The Bellagio fountains are touted as one of the best free attractions in Las Vegas – the colorful and carefully choreographed fountain makes water dance to a pre-selected playlist and anyone walking by can stop and enjoy the show. But if you’re interested in something with a heftier price tag, you can buy the right to control the show – for a casual $250,000. The experience comes with a seat at Hyde Bellagio, the hotel’s night club which overlooks the fountains; a 30-liter bottle of Ace of Spades Champagne (about the size of 40 regular bottles); a gold box and a song selection list. Once the fountains have finished the day’s scheduled shows, you will get to pick a song from the list and use the button (hidden inside the magic box) to set off the 1,200 individual fountains.
