The Walking Dead is awesome again! After an extended slow patch, the show ostensibly killed off fan-favorite Glenn. (Hooray!?) As a result, viewers are in a frenzy over the character’s fate. Many die-hards are convinced that Glenn, who appeared to be ripped apart by a mob of walkers, is still alive.
If we look to the comics, there is hope; Glenn survives well past the current story arc. To add another glimmer of hope, show-runner Scott Gimple has confirmed that Glenn will be back in some way, shape, or form. Viewers will just have to wait and see whether that will be as a walker, in a flashback, or some other, even more creative capacity.
Speaking of fiction …
The Church of Scientology is in the news again, but this time it’s not because of Tom Cruise’s couch-jumping antics. Following the release of Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, a documentary exposing the “church’s” corrupt leadership, exploitation, and abuse, some celebrities are jumping ship.
Several celebrities have already spoken out against the church, including King of Queens star Leah Remini and director Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby).
And finally, CBS has announced that it will be bringing Star Trek back to television in 2017. The reboot will be produced by Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek: Into Darkness) and feature new characters and storylines. CBS has already squashed rumors about linking the plot to Star Trek: Beyond, the latest installment in the reboot movie trilogy. But we’re pretty sure some familiar faces will be on board – at least in cameo roles.
Let’s go over some of the numbers for the latest entertainment headlines.
Until very recently, it seemed as if A-list celebrities were flocking to the Church of Scientology. Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Kirstie Alley are among the church’s most famous followers.
But, when Going Clear was aired on HBO earlier this year, several allegations surfaced linking the church to human rights abuses, blackmail, and illegal wiretapping of its members. This caused some of its famous members to call it quits.
Now the world waits with bated breath to see which celeb will be the next to jump the “DC-8-like spacecraft” that Xenu used to bring humans to Earth 75 billion years ago.
Odds on which celebrity will leave Scientology next:
Kelly Preston: 20/1
Jason Lee: 30/1
Laura Prepon: 50/1
Kirstie Alley: 80/1
John Travolta: 100/1
Tom Cruise: 1,000/1
