Golden Globe Odds: La La Land Leads Noms

December 12, 2016Chris "Tomcat" Tonegatto

The Golden Globe nominations were just announced this morning and we have the odds for you. The 74th Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by talk show host Jimmy Fallon and will air live on Jan. 8, 2017.

This year, the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Meryl Streep, who is also nominated for Best Actress for her role in Florence Foster Jenkins. It will be her 30th Golden Globe nomination and, if she wins, her ninth Golden Globe.

As far as award nominations go, this year’s Globes noms were pretty unsurprising. La La Land leads the nominations with a total of seven, followed by Moonlight with six. The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story is the highest nominated television show with five mentions, followed by The Night Manager with four.

The only real surprise is the absence of Sully, starring Tom Hanks, and Martin Scorsese’s Silence. Other than that, it’s all par for the course.
