LeBron James is a man of many talents, which he takes wherever he damn well pleases.
After an NBA Finals performance for the ages – albeit in a losing effort – King James is going to try his hand at a new endeavor: TV and film production.
Yes, though no longer a young man, LeBron James is heading west … to Hollywood! James – or more specifically, his company, SpringHill – has partnered with Warner Bros. to produce “movies, television and digital content” (according to the Wall Street Journal).
James recently made his feature film debut alongside Amy Schumer and Bill Hader in the movie Trainwreck (which is getting solid reviews), and already produces the TV show Survivor’s Remorse for Starz. But we’re more interested in what the future will hold for James in the entertainment world. And we can’t help but think … er, we can’t help but hope … that, given Hollywood’s penchant for sequels and remakes and James’ new foray into acting and producing, we might be in line for a new Space Jam!
How likely is it to happen? LeBron is on board (having previously stated he’d be up for starring in a Space Jam sequel) and you know Warners would be all over it, given the benjamins it would rake in. That said, James has a pretty busy schedule, what with being the best basketball player in the world, and the time demands of starring in a Space Jam remake would be a lot greater than his bit part in Trainwreck. So, all in all, the odds aren’t great, but …
Now let’s make “not great” a little more concrete.
