The Presidents Cup: you know it; it’s the one that’s like the Ryder Cup but not nearly as competitive. On odd years for the last decade and a half, the United States has been taking on the best golfers in the world, outside of Europe. Which means they’ve been playing a couple of the best golfers in the world, along with a lot of okay ones.
The U.S. has won eight of the ten previous editions, tied another, and lost only one. So the odds seem stacked against themish-mash of Aussies, South Africans, etc. However, Team World will at least have Jason Day. Day has been unconscious the last few months, winning four of his last seven tournaments, and never finishing worse than 12th. The International team is hoping he can lead a group featuring Louis Oosthuizen, Adam Scott, Hideki Matsuyama, and Charl Schwartzel (among others) to victory.
But the American side will once again be favored, countering with five golfers ranked in the top-ten in the world, headlined by no. 1 Jordan Spieth. In a season where he won two majors and the FedEx Cup, Spieth will look to finish in style by leading the U.S. to its sixth straight Presidents Cup.
The last real event before golf goes into winter hibernation, here are all the odds and props for the 2015 Presidents Cup.
