Kanye West recently came out in support of Donald Trump, first by announcing that he would have voted for Trump (but he didn’t vote), and then met with the president-elect in person and was handed a signed copy of TIME Magazine’s recent Person Of The Year edition featuring Trump.
This is big news partly because anything Kanye does turns out to be big news, but also because he’s probably the first A-list celebrity to publicly endorse Trump. While Hillary Clinton had more celebrity endorsements than she knew what to do with, Trump only received a smattering of B-listers and has-beens.
Among Trump’s list is “Happy Days” star Scott Baio, notorious duck hunter Willie Robertson, KISS rockstar Gene Simmons, and, of course, the one and only Ted Nugent. But other than that, there aren’t a whole lot of Hollywood types racing to back him. Could Kanye be the first of many A-listers to come out and endorse Trump?
Probably not. But here are our odds on the most likely celebrities to publicly endorse the 45th president of the United States.
Trump claims that Tom Brady called him up before the election and secretly declared his endorsement for him. His wife later knocked back the claim, saying that Brady did no such thing. A blurry photo of a Trump hat in a locker alleged to be Brady’s backs up Trump’s version of events, but again, there isn’t any concrete evidence.
What we do know is that Brady was on good terms with Trump in the past and it’s actually pretty likely that he privately supports him as president.
Bill Belichick sent Trump a handwritten letter declaring his support for him but never expected it to be read out-loud in front of thousands at a rally by Trump himself. At least, that’s what we think happened. Belichick has remained tight-lipped on the issue and has not confirmed nor denied that the letter is his. Like Brady, he has a close relationship with Trump and has been known to meet with him for dinner.
Kim and Trump actually have a lot in common. They are both reality show stars with an insatiable need for attention. With Kanye’s recent endorsement of Trump, KimYe (that’s Kim + Kanye) could be for the counterweight to Clinton’s Jay Z and Beyonce (Beyay-Z?).
Of course, that’s only if they stay together.
Donald Trump is the Don Rickles of politicians. He’s the insult comic heckling the crowd while Hillary Clinton is the inoffensive and well-rehearsed Jerry Seinfeld. If the real Don Rickles is anything like his onstage persona, then he’s definitely getting a kick out of Donald Trump.
After all this man has done to screw over the Democrats, would it be that surprising to see him go one step further and just join forces with Donald Trump? He’s already done more for Trump than any of his campaign staff, anyway.
